The statistical population of the study was all patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder who referred to the psychological counseling centers of the 5th district of Tehran in 1401.Among them, 45 patients with a low hope score were randomly selected and replaced in 3 groups of "Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy" and "Metacognitive Therapy" and the control group. Demographic questionnaire and "Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale" and "Miller Hope Scale" were used to collect data. For the validity of the instruments, previous studies were used and reliability was calculated using the internal consistency method by calculating the Cronbach's alpha coefficient. For the "Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy" group, 2 sessions were performed during 10 sessions of 90 minutes each week, and for the "Metacognitive Therapy" group, 2 sessions were performed during 10 sessions of 90 minutes each week. The control group did not receive any intervention during the research. The data was analyzed in SPSS. 16.
Results: "Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy" and "Metacognitive Therapy" were effective in improving the hope of patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder (P<0.01) and no significant difference was observed between the two therapy methods.
